  • Eric Marcuz

Eric Marcuz is a receiver with Safeway #1954 in Redding. Eric has worked at Safeway for 15 years, and has served as a shop steward at his store.

“I'm running to bring worker power to our union through transparency and member democracy. Workers should be the voice deciding the direction of our union. Not out of touch officers with six figure salaries and no contact with the workers they claim to represent. A vote for At What Cost is a vote for change in UFCW Local 8-GS.”

  • Genia Freeman

Genia Freeman has worked at Safeway #0273 in Anderson for 5 years in DUG, Floral, Front End/Customer Service, and ISR. She is the Shop Steward for her store.

“I am running to be a voice for my coworkers and others. I will work towards better transparency and communication within our union, including making information and meetings more accessible to all members.”

  • Laela Cooper

Laela Cooper is a Starbucks manager at Safeway #1954 in Redding. Laela has worked for Safeway for 13 years.

“I’m running because I envision a union where all workers feel represented and equal, with contracts that reflect our true value. We deserve a union that fights for our rights and cares about the members. With At What Cost, I will fight to make that dream a reality in UFCW Local 8.”

  • Jenica Chase

Jenica Chase has worked at Safeway #0273 in Anderson for 10 years. Jenica has been involved in the movement to reform UFCW Local 8-GS and has seen firsthand how many members feel unheard, uninformed, and left out of their own union.

“Members should feel supported by union staff and officers. I’m committed to building a more transparent, inclusive union that truly meets members where they are and fights for all of us.”

  • Aiden Atkinson

Aiden Atkinson is a multipurpose clerk at Safeway #1954 in Redding.

“In November, I will have spent nine years working at Safeway — nine years of long shifts and learning firsthand what it means to be a union member. I'm running because too many of us do the work without ever feeling truly represented. Every member deserves a real voice at the table, fair wages that reflect our hard work, and a union that fights for them.”
